Simulation Project Title Modeling spiking and unspiking retinal cells.
Type of model Compartmental model based network model
Description Several different published Hodjkin-Huxley-like models of retinal color cells (both spiking and unspiking) will be implemented in the same simulation environment. After that each cell model will be verified in accordance to the source. Connected cells would implement a retinal color circuits and be a good base for modeling of the experimental data.
Why complementary As psychologist and neurophysiologist I've a lot of experimental data and would like to explain some experimental results. The idea to use a math modeling for this purpose looks very promising. I've designed a retina model based on simple summators, but if more realistic neuron models would be used, the results could be considerably improved. But the existing retinal cell models aren't brought together in the same simulation environment. So the proposed project will be a good way to do it.
