Postdocs, Lab for Computational Vision, NYU

From: Eero Simoncelli (eero.simoncelli@nyu.edu)
Date: Mon Sep 24 2001 - 17:12:11 CEST

Full-time postdoctoral positions are available in the Laboratory for
Computational Vision at New York University. The work of the lab is
highly interdisciplinary, covering a range of fundamental problems in
the analysis and representation of visual information by both
biological and machine systems. Example topics include:

* Statistical models of natural images

* Relationship of image statistics to biological visual processing

* Computational models of early- to mid-level biological visual processes

* Visual texture analysis and representation

* Model-based image processing (image compression, denoising,
  enhancement, restoration from partial data).

* Stochastic stimuli and analysis techniques for characterizing visual
  neurons

Further information is available from:

Applicants should have strong mathematical and computational
skills: preferred educational background is a PhD in Electrical
Engineering, Physics, or Applied Mathematics. Salaries are paid
by the Computational Biology program of the Howard Hughes Medical
Institute, and are set based on experience and skills. The
position includes a generous benefit package (health coverage,
retirement, tuition coverage, etc). HHMI is an equal opportunity
employer.

Applicants should send email to eero.simoncelli@nyu.edu providing a
brief description of interests and relevant experience, a resume, and
names of at least two references. All materials should be in Acrobat
(pdf) or plain text (no MS Word documents please), and may be included
as a URL, or as an email attachment.
