COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE POST-DOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE

A post-doctoral position is available immediately for
computational modeling of dendritic morphology, neuronal
connectivity, and electrophysiology. All highly motivated
candidates with a recent PhD in biology, computer science,
physics, or other areas related to Neuroscience (including MD or
engineering degree) are encouraged to apply. C programming skills
and/or experience with NEURON, GENESIS or other modeling packages
are desirable but not necessary.

Post-doc will join a young and dynamic research group at the
Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study, located in Fairfax, VA (20
miles west of Washington DC). The initial research project is
focused on anatomically and biophysically detailed
electrophysiological simulations of hippocampal neurons to study
synaptic integration and the structure/activity/function
relationship at the cellular and network level.

The post-doc will be hired as a Research Assistant Professor (with
VA state employee benefits) with a salary based on the NIH
postdoctoral scale, and will have generous office space, a new
computer, and full-time access to Silicon Graphics and Linux
servers and consoles.
