Job announcement in Computational Neuroscience

We will open a permament position in Computational Neuroscience at the
level of ‘Maître de conférence universitaire’ (equivalent to Lecturer or

Assistant Professor) at University Paris-VII in fall 2003. Compulsory
qualification for candidature starts in September 2002

    The opening of the position will be officially announced early 2003.

Research will be centred on learning and control of upper limb
movements, including manual dexterity and object manipulation. We seek
candidates with strong experience in the field of biologically inspired
neural network modeling, motor control, biomechanics and a background in

Neuroscience.
    A franco-phone background or working knowledge is required for
teaching duties at University Paris-VII that go with the position.
Teaching
will involve the domains of Neuroscience, Computational neuroscience and

Bioinformatics.
    The position will be attached to INSERM U.483, headed by Y Burnod,
who wishes to enlarge and re-enforce our existing modeling team that
comprises a wide-ranging and complementary expertise from motor
neuroscience, over biophysical and neural network modeling, to robotics.
