Open Post-Doctoral Position

The Biomedical Imaging Group at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) is looking
for a post-doctoral fellow for a duration of one year, starting March
2003. The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. in the signal/image
processing area. The successful applicant will be involved in research
in biomedical image registration; he will work in a stimulating
scientific environment that includes lakeshores, mountains, and
cultural opportunities. The research will be conducted in collaboration
with EPFL's Operations Research Group ROSO, who develops optimization
algorithms tailored to image processing.

The candidate must have:
1) a Ph.D. in signal/image processing;
2) first-hand expertize in biomedical image processing;
3) familiarity with non-linear optimization;
4) a strong taste for mathematics, especially for the theory of splines
and wavelets;
5) development experience in ANSI-C (not C++);
6) excellent oral and written English.

The salary is indexed on the EPFL rules. (Yearly gross salaries for
post-docs are about 70'000.- Swiss Francs.) The application package
