BIOLOGICAL PHYSICS POSTDOCTORAL OPENING,
Neurobiology Theory
PHYSICS & ASTRONOMY DEPT,
UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA, CHAPEL HILL

Applications are invited to fill a postdoctoral opening in
computational or theoretical neurobiology starting july 1st, 2003.
The succesful applicant will join the computational neurophysics
laboratory that is part of a young and growing biological physics
program in the Dept. of Physics & Astronomy
(http://www.physics.unc.edu/research/biophysics/). No prior experience
in biological physics is required, however, the applicant should
be willing to learn some biology and participate in collaborations with
local neurobiology groups.

The Triangle area is one of the preeminent places for biomedical
research with three major research universities
(University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina
State University and Duke University) and the Research Triangle
Park. It is also consistently ranked as one of the top choices
for places to live.

below, enclosing vita, publication list, summary of ongoing and
future research plans, and reprints of recent publications.
The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal possible
upon mutual agreement. Additionally, each applicant
should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the
address given below. Applications will be considered on an ongoing
basis until the position is filled. We prefer applications by
regular mail, unless the candidate's mail system is not expedient,
