POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE

A Postdoc position (BAT IIa, appr. 38.000 EURO/year) is available to
study the neuronal basis of numerical competence in behaving monkeys.

Much effort will be directed at the prefrontal and posterior parietal
cortices, brain region associated with the highest levels of cognitive
function. A sophisticated behavioral methodology will be combined with
techniques for examining the activity of groups of neurons.

The Primate NeuroCognition Lab is an independent junior research group
funded by the German Research Council (DFG) within the Collaborative
Research Center 550, and is located at the Dept. of Cognitive Neurology.
>From 2004 on, the laboratory will be housed in the brand new
state-of-the-art Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research.

Candidates (Ph.D. or M.D.) with a flair for animal training are
particularly encouraged to apply. Experience in Matlab/C-programming and
electrophysiological recordings from awake animals would be advantageous.

Please send CV, the names of two or three referees, and representative
publications (preferably by e-mail) to:
