The Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology is looking for a candidate to
be an independent researcher in the area of Computational Neuroscience.
IBMC is the institution responsible for the local organization of the EU
Advance Course in Computational Neuroscience, held in Obidos, Portugal,
during the 2002-2004 period. IBMC is a state-run research institute
affiliated with the University of Porto.
The offered position is a 5-years contract (with a mid-term evaluation)
with the possibility afterwards of extending it to a permanent position. A
small start-up research package will be provided. Deadline for application
is 24 October 2003, although starting date will be Summer 2004. Salary will
depend on experience, but it will be equivalent to Auxiliar Professor degrees.
The succesful candidate is expected to have some previous experience in
project management and grant-funding. An interest for collaboration with
ongoing projects in Systems Neuroscience pursued by other IBMC groups is
strongly encouraged.
