PhD in Mathematical Neuroscience

Centre for Mathematical Medicine, School of Mathematical Sciences,
University of Nottingham, UK.

A fully funded PhD studentship in the area of Mathematical Neuroscience
is currently available within the Centre for Mathematical Medicine,
School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Nottingham. The offer is
open to European Union citizens only.

Topics under offer include

Neural field theories of thalamo-cortical networks
Dynamics of strongly coupled neural relaxation oscillators
The dynamics of branched nonlinear dendritic trees
Neurobiology of sensory gating: a neural network study

These projects would be suitable for a candidate with a good class
degree in mathematics, physics or computational neuroscience. With all
projects there is the potential for joint work with members of the
Nottingham Institute of Neuroscience.
