Mathematical Neuroscience Meeting
Edinburgh, Scotland, Mar 21st to Mar 23rd 2005
Preliminary announcement
The goal of this meeting is to provide an overview of the current state
of research in Mathematical Neuroscience both to those already working
in the field and to those who are considering moving into it. The
workshop will focus on neural networks and their properties. Several
major themes will be addressed: (1) Oscillations, (2) Waves, (3)
Patterns, (4) Development, and (5) Information Processing.
The meeting will be organised under the auspices of the International
Centre for Mathematical Sciences. We aim to bring to together a number
of researchers from the disciplines of applied maths and computational
neuroscience to foster an environment for the exchange of ideas and the
pursuit of collaborative research.

The number of paricipants will be limited to between 50-60. The program
will allow for a number of contributed talks and poster presentations.
The meeting is supported by the EPSRC, London Mathematical Society and
the Leverhulme Trust Theoretical Neuroscience Network. A small
registration fee will be charged.
Some financial support is available, in particular for PhD and Post-Doc
students. Anyone interested in attending should send an e-mail to
