Research Associate in Neurorobotics
Centre for Bioengineering
Department of Engineering
R&AIA Ł19,460 to Ł29,128 pa (lower end of scale)
Available immediately for one year
Ref: R1505
A position is available on an EU Project which aims to translate
understanding of information processing in the nervous system of the moth in
order to develop a robot platform for conducting chemotaxis in complex
environments – such as naturally occurring turbulent plumes (see
http://www.amoth.org for details). This large project involves laboratories
across Europe conducting work on insect physiology, neuroethology, mobile
robotics and computational neuroscience.
The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and technical
background, with a PhD in a relevant area. Skills in neuronal modelling,
real-time neuronal model implementation, fluid dynamics, flow visualisation
and/or mobile robotics are particularly relevant.
Further details on the research activities carried in this laboratory can be
found at www.le.ac.uk/eg/tcp1/neurolab/.
