Postdoctoral Research Position Available

Postdoctoral fellowship available in Computational Neuroscience/
Neuroinformatics at SUNY Downstate (Brooklyn, New York) starting in the fall. A
collaborative project entitled "Reverse Engineering of Cortical Circuitry,"
utilizes data-mining and computer modeling to explain results of intra- and
extracellular multielectrode recordings of subiculum (an area of hippocampus).

This position will be responsible for developing statistical and other
procedures for encapsulating and comparing simulation to experiment.
Software development will be an important part of this position.
Applicant should hold PhD or equivalent in computational neuroscience or closely
allied field and be comfortable in Unix/Linux. Knowledge of the NEURON
simulator is desirable.

Btw, SUNY Downstate is a medical research institution situated on the shores of
South Central Brooklyn (well, we're not far from Coney Island). Downstate is
