Dear colleagues,
As a review editor of PLoS Computational Biology I would like to draw
your attention to opportunities for submitting your work to this new
journal relevant to computational neuroscience/ neuroinformatics.
The very first issue of PLoS Computational Biology (PLoS-CB) has just
been published (http://compbiol.plosjournals.org).
Like the other Public Library of Science journals this one also follows
the Open Access policy, where the authors keep the copyright but grant a
free right of access to everyone, which is ensured by central storage
usually on payment of a one-off charge after acceptance of a manuscript.
The first PLoS journal (PLoS Biol) has just received an impact factor of
13.9 by Thomson ISI placing it among the most highly cited journals in
the life sciences. There is a good chance that PLoS-CB will follow this
track given the activity of the Computational Biology community.
PLoS-CB is specifically interested in papers on computational
neuroscience/ neuroinformatics as there are many methods and problems in
common with the fields of Systems or Computational Biology. Besides
research articles PLoS-CB also publishes review and perspectives papers
both on submission and solicitation.
If you are interested to submit a review paper to PLoS-CB you are
welcome to contact me or any other colleague from the Editorial Board
for further instructions.
