        POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY:
                PERCEPTION AND CODING OF TEXTURE

A postdoctoral position is available now in the Department of
Psychology and Center for Neural Science at New York University for
research on the visual perception and coding of texture. The overall
project includes psychophysics, statistical and compuational
characterization of natural textures, and fMRI measurements of cortical
coding of texture, and is a collaborative effort of Profs. Michael
Landy, David Heeger and Eero Simoncelli. We are currently looking for a
postdoc with skills in spatial vision, psychophysics and/or statistical
analysis of image ensembles. Experience with computer graphics and/or
image processing would be helpful. The NYU vision group includes over
20 faculty members spanning 6 departments. It includes research in all
areas of visual science including psychophysics, computational and
mathematical modeling and physiology. The appointment is initially for
one year, renewable to as many as four. An application should include
a CV, sample publications, and references.
