I am writing to ask if you can recommend appropriate candidates for three
new tenure-track positions in the UCLA Department of Neurobiology. The
positions are in the areas of Molecular Neurobiology, Cellular/Synaptic
Neurobiology, and Behavioral Neuroscience. I have attached a copy of the
advertisement, which appeared in the October 18 issue of Science.
With construction now under way on both the new Gonda (Goldschmied)
Neuroscience and Genetics Research Center and the new Ahmanson-Lovelace
Brain Mapping Building, this is an exciting time for UCLA neuroscience. I
would appreciate any suggestions you can make about appropriate candidates
for these positions. Please send your suggestions to me directly
(atobin@bri.medsch.ucla.edu), and I will follow up. Thanks
Allan Tobin

Cellular/Synaptic Neurobiology: Studies of signal transmission at synapses
and/or of control of neuronal excitability.
DEPARTMENTS OF NEUROBIOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY - Joint Appointment
Behavioral Neuroscience: Studies of the neural basis of vertebrate learning
and memory that focus jointly at cellular and behavioral levels.
All appointees will be expected to teach in their areas of expertise. Ph.D.
and/or M.D. and postdoctoral experience are required. For all positions,
