we wrote a short news and views about computational neuroscience
and neurology in "Nature-Medicine" in Dec. 1995. Unfortunately,
I don't have the exact reference at hand's reach. The authors
are "JF Vibert, K Pakdaman, E Boussard, E Av-Ron"
and the title is "Computational Neuroscience and Neurology"
in that we had selected two examples, one from the work
of a group on Hyperkaliemic periodic paralysis (by Canon et al,
the same group has had a major paper in Ann. Rev. Neurosc. in
Jan 1996, and another in TINS, nov(?)1995) and another
work by Sejnowski on neural discharge and effect of drugs
relevant for epilespy.
When we were preparing that work, we realized that there is a
large amout work done by several groups about applying models,
such as associative memories and the like to study psychological
disorders. If you are also interested in that I can try to digg
out the references.
We have also some projects of our own, but it is still in a
premiliminary stage. I would be interested if you could also
inform me of interesting works you have found.
In the long run, I want to organize a meeting (probably in
France) on the application of theoretical investigations
to understanding neurological disorders.
sincerely yours
