Will participate in the ongoing design, implementation, distribution, and
maintenance of GENESIS, a simulation system used throughout the world to
build biologically accurate models of the nervous system (URL
www.bbb.caltech.edu/GENESIS/). Will work with a team of software
engineers, students and GENESIS users. Will also be responsible for
maintaining the computer facilities that support the development of GENESIS
as well as its use. Will be involved in several state-of-the-art software
development efforts intended to provide a base for the development of more
sophisticated neural models. Will work in an academic environment with
considerable freedom to pursue own interests within the larger project.

Minimum Education
At least Bachelors Degree and two years experience in the development of
medium to large software projects. Experience with systems administration.
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
C programming on UNIX systems, X11 windows programing at Xlib and Xt
library level. C++ or other object oriented programming experience. JAVA
experience, experience with parallel computers, good writing and
communication skills, knowledge of neurobiology are all a plus.
