POSTDOCTORAL POSITION: NEUROPHYSIOLOGY

Postdoctoral position available January 1, 2000 to study cortical neuronal
responses to skilled actions of the hand. Opportunity to learn quantitative
neurophysiology, recording techniques from single neurons and multiple
electrode arrays, and applications of digital video techology to correlate
behavior with neuronal spike trains. Problems investigated include the role
of sensory guidance during prehension, the interaction of somatosensory and
visual feedback in controlling actions of the hand, and the mechanisms used
in different cortical areas to encode the size and shape of objects.
Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, a strong
background in neuroscience, and fewer than five years postdoctoral
experience. Starting salary ranges from $35,000 to $42,000 per year
