I have been moderating the Comp-neuro mailing list since its inception
seven years ago, and find that I no longer have time to properly maintain
the list. Therefore, I am appealing for someone to take it over, so that
it will not have to be discontinued.

The duties are relatively simple, and might be good experience for a
graduate student in neuroscience. Posssibly one of the faculty members
receiving Comp-neuro might like to asign it to lab members on a rotating
basis.

Basically, one needs deal with new subscribes or unsubscribes and to prune
the mailing list of undeliverable addresses. This part could probably be
automated with a system such as Majordomo, although I have never done so.
The moderating will have to be done by a human, as I receive and reject
many postings which have no relation to neuroscience or biology, as well as
outright spam. There will also have to be a new email address for
comp-neuro, as I have not been able to find anyone at Caltech to take it
over.

If you would like to volunteer (or can twist the arm of a student), please
email me (dbeeman@dogstar.colorado.edu, not to comp-neuro), and I will make
arrangements to give Comp-neuro a new home. Otherwise, I will regretfuly
have to discontine it by the end of next month.
