Schloss Mickeln can be reached by public transportation and by car:

From Düsseldorf airport:

Go to the S-Bahn Station (get a ticket "Preisstufe A" to Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist, Haltestelle Alt-Himmelgeist). Take the S-Bahn S1 or S7 to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). The journey should take ca. 15 minutes. Walk to the place in front of the station where you can catch a Strassenbahn no. 707 in the direction of the university (Universität). Leave the Strassenbahn at S-Bahnhof-Bilk and take the Bus no. 835 in the direction of Düsseldorf-Reisholz. After another ca. 15 minutes you will arrive at Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist. Leave the bus at Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist. Ca. 20m further on the road turn right, across the street, to Schloss Mickeln.

From Düsseldorf main railway station (Hauptbahnhof):

In front of the station you will find the Strassenbahn (get a ticket "Preisstufe A" to Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist, Haltestelle Alt-Himmelgeist).
Catch Strassenbahn no. 707 in the direction of the university (Universität).
Leave the Strassenbahn at S-Bahnhof-Bilk and take the Bus no. 835 in the direction of Düsseldorf-Reisholz.
After another ca. 15 minutes you will arrive at Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist.
Leave the bus at Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist. Ca. 20m further on the road turn right, across the street, to Schloss Mickeln.

By car from Autobahn A3:

At motorway intersection A3/A46 Hildener Kreuz: Take the A46 towards Düsseldorf; leave the motorway at Düsseldorf-Wersten.

At Düsseldorf-Wersten turn left: Take the Kölner Landstraße towards Holthausen/Benrath.
You will go through a residential area, pass several shops and restaurants and after ca. 2km reach a large intersection.
Turn right on to the Ickeswarder Straße:
Proceed straight ahead, cross a large highway-like street, pass a agricultural area and arrive at the village Himmelgeist.
At the first intersection turn left on to the Steinkaul Straße.
After ca. 100m turn right and immediately after this you will find the alley leading to Schloss Mickeln on the left.

Parking space is located to the left of the alley.
