4TH ISN SPECIAL NEUROCHEMISTRY CONFERENCE 2010.
Call for proposals (Submission deadline: April 11, 2008)
The ISN (International Society for Neurochemistry) now invites submission of proposals for the organization of the Fourth ISN Special Neurochemistry Conference to be held in 2010. For this purpose the ISN will provide 150,000 USD to the organizers.
Note that proposals will be considered from bona fide individuals, institutions and learned societies, who do not need to be directly connected to ISN or its sister societies. Submissions addressing topical and emerging areas are encouraged, and the proposed area may relate to neurochemistry in its broader context within neuroscience.
In 2004 the ISN began a series of Special Neurochemistry Conferences. The first one took place in Avignon, France, and focused on "Changes in Neuronal Gene Expression and CNS Drug Responses". The second on "Neural Glycomics and Lipidomics" was held in Antigua, West Indies, in 2006. The third special conference entitled : "Neurodegeneration & Regeneration" will be held in Beijing from 27th June to 1st July 2008.
Proposals will be examined by the ISN Council, and a decision made based on the quality of the scientific program as well as the suitability of the proposed venue.
The conference will
- be located in the European/African Region
- be focused on an important and timely neurochemical topic
- have a 3 day duration with no parallel sessions
- not exceed 300 participants
- not coincide in time with other major neuroscience meetings
