The Laboratory of Neuroinformatics at Cornell's Weill Medical College 
in New York City seeks talented individuals to join an established 
team developing an integrated Web suite of informational and 
computational resources for neuroscience.

Neuroinformatics candidates will combine broad understanding and 
significant research in neuroscience, bioinformatics, or medical 
informatics with proven experience in scientific computing via 
Java/Struts web development, and/or XML Schema. Knowledge of HTML, 
Javascript, Tomcat, or UML modeling is a plus.

Computational Neuroscience candidates should have solid experience 
using information theoretic or other statistical or analytic 
techniques to analyze neurophysiology data. Scientific programming 
skills in C are essential, and experience with computational 
clusters, Matlab and Java is a plus.

The goal of the lab is advancing understanding how the brain 
functions by using state-of-the-art informational and computational 
methods to enable neuroscientists to exchange and analyze data 
globally. Current funded projects include development of the NIH's 
Neuroscience Information Framework, neurodatabase.org, our 
Java/XML-based repository of neural data, our Brainml.org catalog for 
specifying neuroscience terminology, and information-theoretic 
algorithms and tools for analyzing brain data. We provide generous
