Two postdoctoral positions are available in the group of Christian
Machens
at the Ecole normale superieure in Paris, France.

We are looking for motivated and well-qualified postdocs to work
in the area of computational neuroscience at the Ecole normale
superieure (ENS) in Paris, France. Research in our group focuses on
studying the mechanisms that underlie information processing
in the brain. We are interested in peripheral sensory systems
as well as higher-order brain systems that are involved in
working memory and decision-making. More information can be found
at http://www.biologie.uni-muenchen.de/ou/compuneuro/index.html

The group is part of the recently founded theoretical neuroscience
team in the Department of Cognitive Sciences at the ENS, which
includes the groups of Sophie Deneve, Boris Gutkin, and Misha Tsodyks.
Both the ENS and Paris in general provide a strong and interactive
environment for computational neuroscience. (See also
http://www.gnt.ens.fr)

Applicants should have a PhD, an interest in understanding biological
systems, and strong quantitative skills, such as come about through
a degree in physics, engineering, computer science, quantitative
biology, and related disciplines.

To apply for a position, please send us a short summary of your
research interests (about 1 page), a CV including a list of
publications, and the names and contact details of 2 referees.
Electronic submissions in pdf-format are preferred and should
be send to Christian Machens (christian.machens at ens.fr).
Feel free to ask any informal questions about the positions
if you are interested.
