ECSIS Symposium on Learning and Adaptive Behavior in Robotic Systems
(LAB-RS 2008)
Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 6-8, 2008. (http://www.see.ed.ac.uk/labrs08 )
************************************************************************************
Scope: Learning and adaptive behaviors are key to robotics system
operation in real world environments. While there have been important
developments at the theoretical level and in simulations or laboratory
environments, the transfer of these methods onto real-world platforms
has been limited.
This symposium will bring together researchers from academia and
industry to report on new concepts, laboratory demonstrations, and
fielded robotic systems that exhibit learning and adaptive behaviors.
The goal of the symposium is to roadmap future directions for
development of robotic systems with capabilities comparable to those of
biological systems.
The Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
This Symposium is being held in conjunction with the ECSIS Symposium on
Bio-inspired Learning and Intelligent Systems for Security (BLISS-2008)
to be held in Edinburgh on Aug 4-6, 2008.
The schedule is:
Deadline for abstracts/papers: March 31, 2008
Author notification: April 18, 2008
Camera ready: May 4, 2008
Author/Early registration: June 30, 2008
More details about suggested paper topics and the paper submission link
which is now open can be found on the website for the Symposium:

Symposium Chair: Terry Huntsberger (JPL, USA)
Symposium Co-Chairs: Tughrul Arsian (Univ. Edinburgh, UK) and Sethu
Vijayakumar (Univ. Edinburgh, UK)
