Postdoctoral Position in Computational Biology

Prof. Jorge José (Physics and Medical School) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to design and conduct research in computational biology, with a particular interest in computational neurobiology (attention and motor control) and cell biology (mitosis in particular). Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science with an interest to work in biological problems. Demonstrated expertise in statistics, information theory, programming and experience using Matlab is required. The successful candidate must also be able to document their work and present their results clearly in written form. Prior experience in computational biology or neurobiology is preferred.
The position can start October 1, 2010, or later until the position is filled, for a term of one year, with renewals contingent on performance and funding availability. Salary $35-42.5K per year plus standard health insurance and retirement benefits. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the candidate.
