A post-doc position in cellular neuroscience is available at the
Theoretical and Experimental Neurobiology Unit at the Okinawa Institute
of Science and Technology (OIST) in Okinawa, Japan.<br>
<br>
I am looking for a highly motivated researcher to do patch-clamp
recordings in cortical slices. Experience in this technique is desired.
We will address non-linear and time-critical input-output properties of
pyramids and interneurons in the frontal cortex. We will also
investigate the role of
neuromodulators, such as acetyl-choline and dopamine, in influencing
these properties. The project will involve somatic and possibly
dendritic patch-clamp
recordings, the (sometimes focal) application of neuromodulators and
blockers, and
dynamic-clamp.<br>

The starting date will be around September 2008. We pay internationally

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, lead by Nobel Prize
laureate Sydney Brenner, is a newly established
research institute located on Japan's southernmost island of Okinawa,
often
